Gate Safety Edges and Photocells

Gate safety is of the utmost importance and gates must be fitted to conform with the current machinery and gate safety legislation. Fitting of photocells and safety edges help to meet the requirements and may be also fitted to existing gate systems. Photocells are used to create an invisible arc providing safety. This way, a safety zone is created so that on the automatically timed closure of the electric gates, if a vehicle is still within the area of travel of the gates, it will prohibit the gates closing and furthermore, if a “beam” should be broken after the automatic closing has begun, it will re-open and hold the gateway open until the obstruction is clear.
